Panaji is the capital of Goa. It is border with the western state of Maharashtra in the north and the southern state of Karnataka from the east and the south. The Arabian Sea makes for the west coast of the sea.

Konkani and Marathi are the state languages. Hindi is also well understood in here. But English is commonly use all over here.

Though Goa is famous for its beaches, it also famous for  Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary, Molem National Park, Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, Dudhsagar Waterfalls. You may also visit some religious tourist spots for example Church of Our Lady of Rosary, Church of St. Francis of Assisi, The Rachol Seminary, Noroa River, Brahma Camandolu, Sidhanath Mountain, Arvalem Waterfall.

Winter (between late October and early April) is the best time to visit Goa but you may go any time. The winter weather is sunny, balmy, suitable and cool at night. Summers are very warm and humid. On the other hand, heavy rainfall is occurred from June to August.

The carnival period, February through to early March is a peak time; numerous tourists come here to join parades, pageants and merrymaking late into the night.

Goa’s sea and rivers are enriched by sea food with prawns, mackerels, sardines, crabs and lobsters. You may taste it from the beaches still unbelievably cheap and absolutely fresh. Goa’s foods are simple but tasty with chili hot, spicy, and pungent.

Goa has well communication system. The major cities of India are well connected with it.

You can choose your journey by air, by rail, by road and a limited catamaran service. Bus and overnight coaches are available here. You can hire a vehicle for a day. There is no metered taxi but riding pillion on motorcycle taxis is very popular and it would be economical for you.

There are various hotels, tourist bungalows, resort, and guest house for the different person as their demand. Paying guest accommodation with local families is also available here. For student and fixed income people there are dormitory style accommodations and state-run GTDC tourist hotels. All round year room facilities are available but during the peak season you have to book room in advance.

Goa’s beaches are enriched the India’s tourist sector. Every year thousands of viewers visit here with their family. You may come here to join with them in Goa’s festival.

Taj Mahal – Beauty of Creation

Taj Mahal - Beauty of CreationThe Taj mahal is not an edifice but a symbol of love was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaj between 1631 and 1654 by a workforce of 22,000 workers. Taj Mahal is one of the most renowned world heritage sites situated in Agra and recently, voted as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. It looks very beautiful at moon-lit night with the river Yamuna flows behind it.

It opens for the viewers from sunrise to 19 hours. Taj Mahal is open for five nights in a month including the Full Moon night and two days before and two days after except Fridays and month of Ramadan. For night viewing of Taj Mahal is opened from 8-30 p.m. to 12-30 in eight batches of 50 persons for half an hour duration. November to February is the best time for the tourist. Any kind of food or baggage is not allowed inside it. At the time of entering in the mausoleum you will have to take off your shoes. You can use camera but for video camera there are some restriction.

The complex is set in and around a large charbagh (garden) with flowerbeds, raised pathways, avenues of trees, fountains, pools and large water courses in which the Taj Mahal is beautifully reflected. Complex is bounded by a crenellated red sandstone wall on three sides. The river-facing side is opened. Every surface of the entire complex has been decorated with Calligraphy, Abstract geometric elements, Vegetative motifs. The decorative elements were created in three ways such as Paint or stucco applied to the wall surface, Stone inlay, Carvings.

Agra is only 204 km from Delhi. You can go to Agra to visit The Taj Mahal from Delhi by Indian Airlines and other private airways. You may select train journey by the Shatabdi Express and the Taj Express running daily from Delhi Nizamuddin Station. Air-conditioned and deluxe coaches are available for your luxurious journey to Agra.

Switzerland – Heaven of the Earth
